Weld neck flanges are used for a wide variety of applications which are easily identified by their long, tapered neck. The tapered neck of the weld neck flange offers strength reinforcement and support of the flange and pipe. Another feature of the weld neck flange is that the inside diameter of the flange matches that of your pipe. The weld neck flange's tapered neck makes it ideal for use in high-pressure situations and is, in fact, the most commonly used flange for high-pressure applications. weldneck flanges are also requested for use in extremely high or low temperature conditions. API Spec 6A Specified, 6 BX Weld Neck Flanges, have material and dimensions that conform to the requirements for full bore integral flanges. API Spec 6A does not specify overall length of 6BX Weld Neck Flanges, but instead provides dimensions of specific portions of the flange, with tolerance, that are added together, along with an undefined weld bevel, to achieve a length.
